As far as I am concerned it is located at a height of 4632 meters. It is near the Gobindghat on the highway of Rishikesh-Badrinath highway which is the prime town close to Gobindghat is Joshimath.
The word Hemkund is originated from the Sanskrit name meaning “snow” and kind for “bowl” together meaning Snowbowl. Well according to the Dasam Granth it is the area wherein Yoga was practised by Pandu Raja. Apart from that, the Dasam Granth preaches the God ordered Sikh Guru Gobind Singh to come to take a bath while him being in a deep meditation at the Hemkund mountain. It is very difficult and almost next to impossible to reach out to Hemkund between the month of October to April because of the heavy snowing in the area. The Sikh pilgrims start to arrive in the month of May and start working on the damage the path leading to Hemkund because of the heavy snowing which is known as “Kar Seva” meaning that it is a selfless service a belief which gives birth to the tenet of Sikh faith.
Trotters and pilgrims from Delhi may aboard a train which may bring them first to Haridwar and then get going along with a bus to Govindghat which is roughly around 500 kilometres or 361 miles consuming of a traveller’s almost 18 hours. The very basic reasons to not reach out to the shrine is very long ques and the hot and humid temperature. People say that Lord Buddha was seen sitting below that specific tree and entered into deep meditation. The Bodh Gaya’s prime attraction point is Mahabodhi Temple Complex is the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Maharaja Ranjit Singh is responsible for the construction of the Gurdwara which was constructed between 1832 to 1837 which means it took 5 long years to get the structure completed. Guru Gobind Singh owned a camp at this place in the 17th century.
The Takht holds out the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Dasam Granth. This follows the layout of Takht Sri Patna Sahib. As Nanded regarded as the holy town where Baba Banda Singh Bahadur owned an ashram also where the Baba Banda Singh initiated the journey of the Khalsa from Nanded itself. Hence it holds a great place of religious, spiritual and cultural heritage towards the Sikh community. The Hazur Sahib Nanded stands different from other ancient places of Sikhism and Sikh worship where still the ancient practices and rituals are carried out by the inhabitants at the time of the Guru of applying sandalwood tilak on the forehead of the local devotees and the priests. The most vital component and aspect of the holy shrine is that there are 2 sanctums here. Yes and not be forgotten the most important festival which flourishes the sacred place with happiness and blissful ambience is Janmashtami which crowds the place a bit too much but also makes it colourful at the very same time and it is a time which should be captured not in mobile, camera etc. but in hearts as the memories of heart last forever and ever.

The Ram Tirth Temple is hearted at a distance of roughly around 11 kilometers which falls under west direction Chogawan Road in Amritsar, Punjab. The temple is originated right back from the Ramayana era. A very ancient tank has been curated around the temple.
Numerous temples are dispersed in this specific Holy and sacred plot. At this divine location there still lies the remains of a hut where Mata Sita gave birth to Luv and Kush. There lies Maharishi Valmiki’s refuge along with a well which has stairs wherein Mata Sita used to take bath. Ramayana which is the holiest book of Hinduism addresses this site without fail which signifies the importance of the place. Mata Sita landed on this place after Lord Rama abandoned her. Mata Sita took refuge in Valmiki’s hut. She took care of her children Luv and Kush and raised them. She led their training and it turned out that they were very well gifted in all aspects of warfare and other subjects.
Hence this makes the place very special holding a great religious significance. This is also mentioned in the holy scriptures which makes it very much clear and effortless to understand. This religious spot stood once as an ashrama to Valmiki. While the history states that Valmiki has inscribed numerous scriptures in the same place. Rishi Valmiki’s still to be over at the same place where he once resided as per the scriptures.
Importance of the Ram Tirth Temple
According to the recent stats that I have gone through, it is highly probable that the Ram Tirth Temple is visited by the pilgrims which count in heavy numbers. Also, a large number of long-haired people who are better known as Jatadharis set foot on the sacred place as well. They not only come to visit this place in Amritsar but also slip into deep meditation for very long hours, how many not sure. This depends on what level of focus they have and can meditate without getting distracted by the outer world and chaos. The local people who reside nearby are hard to miss this and gather in Stiff numbers.
The common faith shared by the pilgrims is that they should not fail to provide alms to the beggars, cripples and in need of help individuals, they provide alms in the form of money, clothes, food etc. or whatever they could help these people with
One of the most popular fairs of Punjab
Just, after the night of Diwali which Hindus also term as Deepavali a fair is held. The preparations start very early as it is the chief reason of pilgrims visit to this place. And the fair continues to last for five long days. Also, Ram tirth fair is one of the most popular fairs of Punjab. The major centre of attraction for the visitors is the Tank which in the sculptures as described being dug by Hanuman. The pilgrims take this as a very significant factor for being present in there. Not only this, the pilgrims share a common belief that having a small dip in the so described tank is very auspicious.
And this dip needs to completed in the early hours of the full moon night. This night is the night of Purnamashi. The pilgrims then enchant the mantras along with the salutations of “Ram Ram” just right after the completion of the dip.
Best time to visit the place
It is quite fascinating that Amritsar, Punjab and many more locations in India which senses the extreme weather condition. Be it winter, the cold weather is beyond resistance capacity while the summers have the capability to wet the devotee in his very own sweat i.e. summers are hot and winters are way too cold. The most ideal time according to me is that a devotee should step foot on this land between the months of October & March. During this period the weather conditions are quite minimal which means the weather is neither too hot nor it is unbearably chilled. This gives the individual a perfect time window to get in and out just before weather conditions go haywire.
All in All
The Ram Tirth Mandir hence is visited by the huge number of pilgrims and devotees in order to grab the spirituality that lies within the ambience of the fair and the sacred holy place.
So when you visit Amritsar you can never afford to visit this holy place in Amritsar.

The important point to note is that the foundation of the golden temple was laid by a Muslim Pir, Sai Mian Mir Ji.
