Gurudwara Kaulan sahib is a sacred Sikh place and it is located on the west part of Gurudwara Baba Atal which is also in Amritsar and it is also very near to the main Gurudwara which is the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

There is also story related to lithe few of Mata Kaulan Ji. She was not a Sikh women in her early years. But as always Gurus teach us that no one can separate the true lover of Guru from true Sikh eventually mata kaulan rested in the company of Shri Guru Hargobind Ji.
She was abducted by Muslim kazi and she was tortured a lot. There was no respite for her. Mata kaulan ji was sent to Miya Mir for education and he took her to true guru. After that true Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Singh Ji never abandoned her and she remained in Darbar Sahib and chose to follow the true path of Guru. Kaulsar sahib excavation was started in 1624 and got completed in 1627.
There is a holy pool next to Gurudwara Mata Kaulan sahib which is known as kaulsar sarovar(tank). Kaulsar is the one of the holy sarvorars(tanks) in Sikh religion. That describes the importance of this place.
Guru sahib himself told his followers to take a dip in kaulsar sarovar before taking a dip in Harmindar sahib. This shows the immense importance of this pool and gurudwara or we can say holy place.
